Businessman denies dumping 27-tonne waste mountain that cost £10,000 to clear

A Staffordshire businessman, a 27 -ton mammoth pile in the middle of a country lane was thrown into court.

The 20 -meter -long Garbage Mountain has blocked residents and vehicles for more than a day in the watery lane in Lichfield after it appeared on a night on January 19 this year.

According to the Council, the cost of £ 10,000 is two meters high and weighing 27 tons.

Environmental health teams launched an investigation and in March, civil servants seized a truck believed to be used in the incident.

He is accused of five numbers: depositing controlled wastes, damaging the environmental or human health of the environment, not transferring the environment to an authorized person, deliberate blockage of the highway and driving dangerous.

Doug Pullen, a member of the Assembly of the Lichfield Regional Council, said: “The defendant appeared in the Crown court and claimed that he was not guilty of all the charges of flying flies in the aqueous strip.

“We disappointed that the hearing would not be held until 2027 due to the accumulated works in the court system, but I have every confidence in our environmental health team, and when it happens, we will continue to take a zero tolerance approach to fly in the Lichfield region.”

Sheen from Grange Road in Uttoexeter and the company will now be tried in March 2027.
