Passenger rescued after entering track at Rajajinagar Metro Station; services delayed by 10 minutes

Metro services were briefly disrupted at Rajajinagar Metro Station on Saturday after a passenger entered the track area, prompting authorities to activate emergency safety procedures.

According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the incident took place at 12.25 pm.

“The Station Controller and security personnel responded immediately, following prescribed emergency protocols,” an official said.

“The passenger was safely rescued from the runway area without sustaining any injuries,” officials said.

Following the rescue, authorities ensured that all mandatory safety checks and operational protocols were completed before train services were resumed.

“The incident caused a delay of approximately 10 minutes in metro operations. After cleaning the rails and completing the necessary safety procedures, normal train services resumed at 12.34,” the official said.

BMRCL did not disclose the identity of the passenger or the circumstances that led to the person entering the runway area.
