Passengers told to leave cruise ship 24 hours after getting onboard | World | News

Disney’s newest cruise line was forced to cancel its cruise after a mechanical fault was detected. The Disney Adventure cruise, which departed Singapore on May 7, was unexpectedly canceled after guests boarded the ship and were subsequently asked to disembark.
Passengers were told they could “set sail soon,” according to one Reddit user. They wrote: “It’s midnight right now. We’ve been waiting here since 2pm and they haven’t given us any information. What’s worse is they’ve closed all the kitchens, coffee shops, etc. Why would they do this?”
Guests were offered a full refund, a 50% discount on future travel, a free hotel stay for May 7, a refund for hotel and flight changes, and up to a $500 deposit for incidentals.
“We fully understand that this is an unfortunate situation for our guests and have worked directly with them to support their travel needs, help make their journey home as smooth as possible, and invite them on a future sailing trip,” Disney told USA Today.
It offers three- to four-night cruises featuring seven themed areas that bring Disney, Pixar and Marvel stories to life, including Broadway-style shows and fireworks at sea.
As of mid-2026, Disney Adventure departing Singapore typically starts around $958 to $1,396 for two adults in an interior cabin for a three-night cruise.
