Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts’ struggles on full display

Super Bowl LIX featured two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, and this wasn’t the first time two teams faced off for a shot at the title.
Ten months later, both Mahomes and Hurts find themselves in a predicament. The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves out of the playoff hunt with four weeks left in the regular season. The Philadelphia Eagles have lost three straight games and have failed to score more than 21 points in their last five games.

Mahomes and Hurts’ Week 14 performances were also less than ideal.
The Chiefs star was 14-of-33 for 160 yards and three interceptions as they lost 20-10 to the Houston Texans to fall to 6-7.
He complained about the team’s inability to take action at the most appropriate moments.
“We had our chances, but we couldn’t take them,” Mahomes said after the game.

The Eagles star was 21-of-40 for 240 yards, four interceptions and one lost fumble. Two of the five turnovers occurred in a single play. Philadelphia falls to 8-5. While the team still leads the NFC East, the Eagles appear to be a long way from February’s Super Bowl champions.
“We lost the game,” Hurts said, “and I didn’t play well enough to help us win the game.”

The road to Super Bowl LX is anyone’s game as last year’s top two teams square off at a crucial point in the season. The Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks are the only teams with at least 10 wins.
