Congress leader Pawan Khera on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of “attacking” the State police on him instead of responding to questions raised by the Opposition regarding foreign investments and multiple passports allegedly linked to Mr. Sarma’s wife.
The Congress leader’s accusation came after an Assam Police team landed in Delhi on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and searched his flat in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area. The police action follows a criminal complaint filed by Mr. Sarma’s entrepreneur wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, who alleged that the Congress used forged and forged documents to target her.
