Pemmasani Urges young Doctors to Prioritise Service

: The Union’s Minister of State for Rural Development and Communication, Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar on Saturday appealed to young medical graduates to prioritize compassion and service above financial gain while pursuing their profession.
Speaking as the chief guest at the convocation ceremony of Government Medical College in Guntur, the minister congratulated the graduating students who earned their medical degrees after years of dedication and sacrifice.
“After many sleepless nights and time spent away from your family and festivals, you are finally receiving your medical certificate. I congratulate you all on this proud achievement,” he said.
Dr. While students begin their journey by studying biochemical algorithms, diagrams and theoretical concepts, real recognition in society comes from sincere service to patients, said Chandrasekhar. Recalling his childhood in Tenali, Dr., a doctor known for his selfless service. He said he often hears people speak about Dakshina Murthy with great respect.
“I didn’t understand the reason for this admiration then. But after becoming a doctor myself, I realized that this respect comes from pure and selfless service,” he said, adding that this principle is valid not only in Guntur or Andhra Pradesh but all over the world.
Chandrasekhar advised young doctors to spend more time with patients than staff and emphasized the importance of communication, teamwork and continuous learning. Doctors need to stay up to date on new drugs, identify interesting case studies and improve their professional credibility through knowledge, he said.
While financial awareness is important, he cautioned against succumbing to credit and EMI pressures, which could affect professional focus.
The program was attended by university director Dr. NV Sundarachari, GGH inspector Dr. Yashaswi Ramana, department heads and faculty members attended.
