PM Modi meets President Putin; calls for ending Ukraine conflict as soon as possible

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that on Monday, September 1, 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin was a call to end humanity’s Ukraine conflict as soon as possible.

Modi and Mr. Putin organized negotiations on the margins of the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in this Chinese port city.

In the opening words of Modi television, we welcome the latest efforts to bring peace to Ukraine and hope that all the parties relevant will progress “constructive”.
The call of humanity is to end the conflict as soon as possible and find ways to bring permanent peace to the region.
Mr. Modi also said that India expects to take the Russian leader. Mr. Putin will travel to India in December for the summit negotiations with Mr. Modi.
Modi said India and Russia are moving shoulder to shoulder even in difficult times.
He said close relations between India and Russia are important for global peace, stability and prosperity.
