Subiaco dog park: Council set to axe idea for new off-leash park despite keen interest

Although a dog park in the heart of Subiaco’s heart has received more than 130 signatures in a petition, it is not likely to happen soon.
The Council will be planned to establish a closed dog park at Central Ward next week.
In October last year, the city comes after receiving a petition for a fence -surrounded dog exercise park when residents are banned from using Subiaco Primary School.
The petition from a Bagot Road resident was signed by 133 people from 94 properties in Subiaco and proposed four potential for a new dog exercise area.
The petition said, “Apart from the leading dog park assigned to the palm, existing dog parks are around the skirts of Subiaco,” he said.
“For the last few months, there are at least three dogs consisting of at least three dogs by vehicles.”
Among the proposed places were the men’s hut in the Theater Gardens, the Rose Garden in Rankin Gardens, the new gardens replaced by the Community Center and a place behind the existing non -leadership area.
However, according to Council officers, it would not be possible to establish a new dog park.
One city report said, “Review of the officer is the areas where there is no inadequate physical space to meet this demand, the petitions are not large enough and the other community use is proposed with a significant limitation of the use of the community,” he said.
Although there are six other dogs in the city, it is surrounded by fence only in Rankin Road Park.
The cost of building a dog park surrounded by another fence is estimated to be about $ 200,000.
