Police Stations in Four Commissionerates to Be Reorganized, Says DGP

Hyderabad: Director General of Police directed the chiefs of police commissionerates of Telangana, CV Anand, Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Malkajgiri and Future City to complete the reorganization of jurisdiction of police station in accordance with government orders (GOs) issued last December, taking into account the limits of municipal bodies, revenue divisions and courts.
Implementation of some aspects of HD remained incomplete, leading to confusion in various commissions. At Thursday’s meeting, police commissioners presented proposals regarding the reorganization of police stations, territorial jurisdiction, administrative requirements and other related issues.
Commissioner of police VC Sajjanar (Hyderabad), Tarun Joshi (City of Future), Dr M. Ramesh (Cyberabad) and B. Sumathi (Malkajgiri), joint commissioners and senior officers attended the meeting.
Emphasizing the need for long-term planning, Anand stated that urban expansion, population growth and administrative requirements should be taken into account in the restructuring of police station jurisdictions. He also instructed the authorities to take into account the views of all stakeholders in the process.
Issuing special instructions regarding demarcation of police station boundaries in certain areas of Hyderabad, the DGP emphasized that the new boundaries should be finalized in a way that does not disturb the public, government departments and the judiciary. Discussions and field issues were finalized after discussion and included in the recommendations.
Anand reiterated that the reorganization of police stations should strengthen people-centered and effective policing and improve the delivery of police services to the public.
