PM Narendra Modi makes unscheduled stop at Jhargram, savours street food ‘jhalmuri’

Bystanders and the vendor were surprised when the Prime Minister’s convoy suddenly stopped in front of his modest shop in Jhargram and no one except Modi walked towards the counter to ask the price of ‘jhalmuri’.
“Bhai, apka jhalmuri khelao, kitna? Accha se bana do jhalmuri (serve me with your jhalmuri; how much? Make it delicious),” Modi said to the astonished shop owner.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by security personnel, handed over the money to the seller and insisted that he accept the money.
To the shopkeeper’s question whether all standard ingredients would be used to prepare this delicacy, Modi replied, “Everything except nimak (salt), which he does not use for health reasons.”
The Prime Minister enjoyed the ‘jhalmuri’ and later put a photo of it on the X handle.
“In the midst of four public meetings on a busy Sunday in West Bengal, I enjoyed delicious spicy puffed rice called Jhalmuri in Jhargram,” the Prime Minister said in three posts on handle X, along with a video of the visit.
