Police Register Case Over Posters Targeting Rahul, Priyanka and Kharge in Wayanad

Wayanad: Police registered a case after posters targeting Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Mallikarjun Kharge appeared on the walls of the Congress office in Wayanad and its nearby areas, officials said on Sunday. Kalpetta police station officials said the case was registered following a complaint filed by MLA T Siddique.
According to the FIR, posters targeting three party leaders appeared on the wall of the Wayanad DCC office complex and nearby areas on May 13, when uncertainty prevailed over the selection of the next Kerala Chief Minister.
Officials said the posters also threatened that Wayanad MP Vadra would be defeated in the next election.
He warned that “Wayanad will be the next Amethi”.
Police said Congress workers removed the posters immediately after the incident.
The case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Kerala Police Act.
Authorities said police have obtained CCTV footage showing a person pasting the posters on the walls and efforts are on to identify this person.
