When Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the IPL Championship trophy for the second time, congratulatory messages poured in from different quarters, including leading politicians of Karnataka.
Caretaker Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in his congratulatory message, said: “Congratulations to our RCB for lifting the Cup for the second consecutive time. This victory, achieved through a united team effort, created a festive atmosphere in the homes of RCB fans everywhere. Throughout the tournament, the fearless brand of cricket displayed by the RCB boys seemed to leave the opposing teams unanswered.”
At the same time, Mr. Siddaramaiah sought to remind the fans about the safety and precautionary measures implemented in the state following the unfortunate stampede incident during last year’s victory celebrations. “The State Police Department has issued some guidelines regarding the celebration of RCB’s victory. These are for your safety and welfare, so please make sure you follow them,” he said.
Chief Ministerial candidate DK Shivakumar said: “RCB created history by clinching the IPL title for the second consecutive time. With courage, composure and the heart of true champions, the team has once again made Bengaluru proud. Congratulations to the players, coaches, support staff and millions of fans who have been with the team every step of the way.”
Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy said: “From managerial performances to moments of brilliance under pressure, this title has been built on consistency, character and a relentless will to win. Special applause to Virat Kohli, whose bat once again spoke with authority throughout the tournament, amassing over 650 runs and inspiring the team at every step. Equally praiseworthy was Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, whose masterful bowling and 28 wickets provided crucial breakthroughs when the team needed it. Mostly Captain Rajat Patidar led with composure, courage and conviction, setting the tone as both a leader and a reliable participant with the bat.
