BJP member K. Sudhakar brought up the issue and accused the Karnataka government of wrong managing the current stock. This triggered a harsh response by the Minister of Agriculture of Karnataka N. Cheluvayaswamy, who called the BJP deputy’s allegations about the center of the deputy.

During the zero hours in Lok Sabha, Dr. Karnataka raised the issue of urea scarcity. Sudhakar claimed that the center supplies 8.13,000 tons of urea to Karnataka despite global conflicts. However, he claimed that the Karnataka government, who united in corruption, could not effectively distribute it and gave him injustice to farmers.

He applied to the center to intervene and guide the Karnataka Chief Secretary to effectively distribute the urea stock among farmers.

‘Sleeping through your teeth’

Mr. Cheluvarayaswamy, who responded sharply to this, claimed that the deputy was “lying on his teeth”. Although the center allocated 6.82 lakh tons of urea to the state from April to July, the Minister reiterated that it was only supplying 5.46 lakh tons. The state tried to reduce the distress situation with the help of opening stocks, which were 3.46.498.74 tons from the previous season.

The Minister accused the center of the “short supply için for the current problem in the state as a square. He argued that Sudhakar should call the remaining quantum to release the remaining quantum instead of accusing the situation of misrepresenting the supply if he was really concerned with farmers.

CM’s letter to the center

Cheluvarayaswamy pointed out that the Prime Minister has already written to the Minister of Union Agriculture by the Union Agriculture Minister of the Union and said that he made an appointment to search for the supply of quantum urea stock with the Minister of Union Fertilizers.

Currently, the state is trying to manage the famine by providing additional stocks from different areas to regions that are more demanded.
