Prince William ‘will strip Harry of 1 important job’ | Royal | News

Prince William may oust Prince Harry from key royal role when he takes over King Charles. By law, senior members of the Royal Family can act on behalf of the monarch and carry out most duties and functions when the monarch is abroad or too ill to perform official duties.

Known as Counselors of State, royals currently listed by Buckingham Palace for the role include Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Princess Beatrice and Prince Harry. An Act of Parliament is required to remove a royal from the list.

Pressure for Harry to be sacked has grown since he and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, resigned as senior royal staff.

There were also calls for the King to depose his brother, the disgraced former Duke of York.

Daily Mail daily editor Richard Eden said: Palace Secrecy It was already clear to him that King Charles was not ready to take the title from Harry.

Mr Eden said: “So the idea was that they didn’t need to use Andrew or Harry because there were others who could take on that role if necessary.”

He added: “So I think it’s clear the King won’t do that. Who knows? It’s hard to predict what William will do. But it’s fair to say he will do something about it. He will take a very different stance.”

Royal biographer Robert Hardman reminded the audience that it was up to the Government and the process was governed by law.

Daily Mail Royal Editor Rebecca English suggested the public viewed Harry’s sacking as a “condemnation” of those who betrayed or embarrassed the Windsors.

He joked: “What can you do other than tell them they’re a very naughty kid? Take away the things that give them validity.”

Ms English suggested this was something the public, including her colleague, were quite upset about.
