Princess Eugenie previously revealed that she had developed a very specific phobia since becoming a mother for the first time in 2021. The 36-year-old, who married Jack Brooksbank in 2018, welcomed their first son, August, in February 2021.

The couple later welcomed their second son, Ernest, in May 2023 and announced earlier this year that they were expecting their third child. The couple shared their happiness in a statement released by Buckingham Palace, stating that both of their sons were “excited” about becoming the older brother of a new sibling.

The baby, who will also be the fifth grandchild of Sarah Ferguson and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, will join the family this summer.

Speaking at a World Economic Forum event in Davos in January 2023, when she was nearly five months pregnant with Ernest, Eugenie said: [August] I’m going to be an activist… So that’s it, it’s all for them.

“I spoke to Peter Thomson, the UN Special Envoy for the Oceans, and all he said to me is that I’m doing this for my grandchildren. This is the same. Every decision we make now has to be for August, what he can look at, what he can do and how he will live his life.”

She added: “But I also think as a mother you suddenly completely change, your hormones change, everything changes.”

Revealing her “sudden” phobia, Eugenie added: “I’m scared of flying and stuff like that now and I never would have been scared before.”

Along with a statement, Eugenie also shared the news of her pregnancy on Instagram alongside a photo of herself holding their son’s scan.

The headline simply reads: “Baby Brooksbank due in 2026! [red-heart emoji] [little-baby emoji]”
