Princess Lilibet follows in her mother Meghan Markle footsteps – as her stylish dress sells out after volunteering appearance

Princess Lilibet seems to have followed in her mother Meghan Markle’s footsteps with her passion for stylish dressing.

Meghan and Prince Harry’s younger daughter, who was born in the US and lives in Montecito, was spotted with her parents and six-year-old brother Prince Archie on a Thanksgiving trip this week.

Although her face was left out of the photos, four-year-old Lili was spotted with her bright red hair neatly tied up for a voluntary visit to a public kitchen.

She wore a festive red tartan ‘Taffeta Party’ dress from sustainable brand Hope & Henry, featuring black bow and ruffle short sleeves, reduced from £38 to £26.

The dress has since sold out, prompting comparisons between Lili and her mother; He explained how the sales of the brands he had worn before increased after he was seen in those brands.

The Duchess of Sussex has been building up her investment portfolio since leaving the Firm with Prince Harry in 2020, and has put money into five to ten brands, including bag brand Cesta Collective, whose designs she has shown off on numerous occasions.

Like the ‘Kate Effect’, which saw the Princess of Wales’ outfits sell out within minutes of being seen, Meghan’s wardrobe has the power to be influential. At an engagement in 2018, her bag from Scottish brand Strathberry sold out 11 minutes after Meghan was seen proudly carrying it to her engagement to Harry.

Royals fans were quick to make comparisons; ‘Like a mother’s daughter’ one wrote on social media, while others claimed it was the beginning of the ‘Lilibet Effect’.

Another wrote: ‘Meg transferred her power to babies. Welcome to the Lili Diana effect, y’all! IKTR.’

A third person said: ‘If it were my daughter, I would buy it too.’ Pleasant!!’

The dress is still available for purchase on third-party sites like Amazon, and other colors appear to be in stock at the time of writing.

The dresses, shoes and even sunglasses worn by 10-year-old Princess Charlotte often sell out, similar to her mother’s Kate effect.

For example, the £39 Rachel Riley dress sold out in less than 24 hours after making a surprise appearance at the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

Classic, simple and age-appropriate, Charlotte’s wardrobe is full of floral dresses and cardigans from Spanish brands and buckle shoes from the Papouelli brand, which has attracted worldwide attention since the princess appeared in them during her coronation.

Charlotte also wears simple plimsolls from London’s cult children’s clothing store Trotters in Chelsea. Breton stripes are a favorite print.

Interest in the young princess’s clothes and accessories started before she was even a day old.

Although her face was left out of the photos, four-year-old Lili was seen with her bright red hair pulled back neatly.

Moments after appearing on the steps of the Lindo Wing in St Mary’s, Paddington, the baby’s GH Hurt & Son wrap attracted 100,000 visitors to the website from more than 183 countries.

It is not known whether Lilibet has met her 10-year-old cousin Charlotte.

Earlier this week, Meghan shared a video montage from the day at Our Big Kitchen, where she helped the royal family bake cookies, slice vegetables and package meals for food insecure people in Los Angeles as part of an Archewell Foundation initiative.

The photos showed Lili’s long red hair, the same color as her father’s, braided under the hat.

‘How I love Lili’s hair color!’ one person wrote to X.

Meghan and Harry have shared rare glimpses of their children, who both have red hair, over the years.

Archie and Lilibet were recently featured on Meghan’s Instagram account in a family weekend video of them carving pumpkins on October 26.

Earlier that month, Meghan celebrated International Girls’ Day on October 11 with a heartwarming photo of herself and her daughter holding hands, as well as a short clip of Lilibet running on the grass outside.

‘To all the girls; This world is yours. Do what you can to protect your rights, use your voice, support each other. We will do the same for you. This is your right and our responsibility. The Duchess of Sussex wrote on Instagram: “Go get ’em girl.”

Lilibet turned four years old in June. Meghan marked it on social media with a photo of Harry and their daughter holding hands and another holding Lilibet as a newborn.

“The sweetest bond to watch,” Meghan wrote. ‘Daddy’s little girl and his favorite adventurer.’
