To understand today’s disgruntled Trump voters, let me first take you to the 2024 presidential election. During a debate, Trump was asked the following question: After 10 years of waiting — there was finally a plan for how to replace the Affordable Care Act. The answer? “I have an idea for a plan.”

Apparently his “plan concepts” were enough for millions of supporters to trust his vague vision.

(Some have even seen their health premiums double.)

One disgruntled voter includes this anonymous Facebook poster: wrote“I voted for Trump hoping that by getting rid of all the illegals, he would finally make our Healthcare System better now that they are no longer leaking through the system.”

“Now that 2.5 million illegal aliens have been deported, why is our insurance higher than ever? The cost of my prescription drugs has skyrocketed, and the quality of care seems worse than ever.”

“When will things start to turn around? I can’t pay Health Insurance this year because of how bad the situation is.”

“I’m losing faith, Mr. Trump!” They concluded.

A few verification notes:

1. Affordable Care Act Forbidden Preventing undocumented immigrants from obtaining health insurance through the ACA marketplaces. As of 2025, many legally present immigrants happened banned and from the market place. So we’re not sure about the anonymous poster’s misspelled “leaking our system” comment. And;

2. Insurance tends to get cheaper This thinking is already becoming distorted as more people join.

Netizens suggested that the increase in premiums should show Trump voters that perhaps it wasn’t undocumented immigrants who were driving up prices.

“Undocumented immigrants were never a problem, but they were easy to exploit as bogeymen,” Reddit user said 0zzm0s1s in question. “Trump supporters don’t like to hear that our problems are complex and require detailed policies, investments, and compromises to solve. They like to hear the angry man talk loudly about how all their problems can be solved by building walls, deporting immigrants, and making other countries pay tariffs. It didn’t matter that none of that would ever work, it sounded good and all he needed was their votes. Now that he’s back in the White House, he couldn’t care less about their problems.”

Similarly user protoman He offered this advice to those wondering why deportations do not reduce costs:

“The same reason kicking yourself in the balls doesn’t reduce health care costs either. Because those two things have nothing to do with each other, stupid,” they said.

The Internet says: “Maybe the leeches are something else…”

“They’ve been leeches all this time…couldn’t they be rich? DUN DUN DUUUUN,” user ThoughtfulLlama commented.

In general, commenters questioned what research the anonymous poster might have done before voting.

“Did he think having fewer people around who could pay for his health insurance plan would make it cheaper?” user janthon567 posed.

And they left one last piece of advice:

“Accordingly Embers [insurance prices] they are better than ever. Maybe if you don’t like the USA you can leave?” user Yivanna in question.

Yes. What are your thoughts?
