Private Hospital Sealed After Oxygen Pipeline Explodes Twice In 15 Hours

Noida: Authorities have sealed off a private hospital here and suspended its license after its medical oxygen pipeline burst twice in 15 hours, health ministry officials said on Monday. They said there was no loss of life in the incident.

All patients were shifted to other hospitals after the second explosion at Mark Hospital in Sector 66 on Monday evening, officials said.

It was stated that the first explosion occurred at noon on Sunday due to a short circuit near the intensive care unit (ICU) on the ground floor of the 49-bed facility in the 3rd Stage area.

Following the second explosion, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Narendra Kumar, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) Dr. Chandan Soni, Health Department Adviser Shweta Khurana and other officials reached the spot.

Many patients were transferred to nearby Kailash Hospital and Om Hospital, officials said, adding that one patient was admitted to the intensive care unit and two other patients were referred to Delhi.

According to officials, information about the remaining patients is being collected.

DCMO Soni said that due to the negligence of the hospital management, the hospital was sealed and its license was suspended.

He said a joint committee has been formed to investigate the incident.
