‘Prolific’ child sex offender jailed

Christopher Trezise was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison for his crimes [Warwickshire Police]

A man who said he exploited children and babies online has been jailed after admitting multiple child sex crimes.

Christopher Trezise, of Rugby, Warwickshire, had more than 1,000 illegal images on his devices and was engaging in sexual activity with a child.

Warwickshire Police said the 46-year-old man also arranged to meet an offender who sexually abused another child before his arrest in May 2024.

The agency’s child sexual exploitation team found he “had the potential to distribute indecent images online” and was also an active member of child exploitation networks and forums.

Trezise had pleaded guilty to taking indecent photographs of a child and three counts of distributing indecent photographs at a previous hearing at Warwick Crown Court.

He also admitted arranging for child sexual offenses to be committed, possessing extreme pornographic images and having sexual intercourse with a child.

On Thursday, the judge sentenced him to 10 years and six months in prison in the same court.

He was given a four-year extended license and given a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Detective Sergeant Jag Gill said Trezise was a “prolific criminal” who used the internet to commit his crimes anonymously.

He said: “The extreme level of content obtained from his devices was appalling and showed a clear example of repeated and deliberate behaviour, and this seriousness was reflected in the length of his sentence.

“Our focus is on the safety of children and the needs of victims. We will relentlessly pursue suspects like Trezise and anyone else who uses the internet to groom, coerce, threaten, exploit or share exploitative material relating to children, working with our partners and using all available investigative powers to bring offenders to justice.”
