Puducherry election results 2026 LIVE: Ruling AINRC leads the race; CM Rangasamy secures comfortable majority in Thattanchavady

The Election Commission of India (ECI) said on Sunday, May 3, 2026, that it will uphold the “highest standards of transparency, security and efficiency” during the counting of votes for the Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Puducherry Assemblies elections and bye elections in seven Assembly constituencies of five States on Monday, May 4, 2026.
The fate of 294 candidates, including AINRC founder and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, who are fighting to elect the 16th Assembly in Puducherry, will be known on Monday, May 4, 2026, as election officials prepare for counting of votes at centers spread across four districts of the Union Territory. The Union Territory recorded a record voter turnout of 91.23% in the polls held on April 9 to elect the 30-member Assembly.
Although the main election battle was between the ruling National Democratic Alliance led by AINRC and the INDIA bloc, the fielding of candidates, including some former legislators, by the TVK in all constituencies had made the contest evenly balanced in Puducherry.
