Epstein files: UK police open investigation into two historical child sex abuse claims

Surrey Police are investigating two separate allegations of historic child sexual abuse following the release of the Epstein files.

Police said one of the reports related to locations in Surrey and Berkshire from the mid-1990s to 2000, while the other report related to West Surrey in the mid-to-late 1980s.

In a statement, police said: “Following the release of files on Jeffery Epstein by the US Department of Justice, we are investigating two separate allegations of non-recent child sexual abuse.

“One report relates to locations in Surrey and Berkshire from the mid-1990s to 2000. The other relates to locations in West Surrey from the mid-to-late 1980s.

“No arrests have been made.

“We take all reports of sexual offenses seriously and will work to identify reasonable avenues of investigation to verify information or establish supporting evidence.

“No further information available at this time.”

In February, Surrey Police called for witnesses to come forward following a redacted report released in December by the U.S. Department of Justice revealing allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault that allegedly occurred at Virginia Water between 1994 and 1996.
