Rachakonda Police Bust Fake Cotton Seed Racket

Hyderabad:Rachakonda police busted an interstate racket related to transportation and sale of fake cotton seeds, arrested four persons and seized 600 kg of banned BT-3 seeds in Hayathnagar.

LB Nagar special operations team (SOT) along with agriculture department officials and Hayathnagar police carried out the operation based on specific intelligence inputs. Police said the accused were carrying fake BT-3 cotton seeds from Nandyal district to sell to farmers in Telangana ahead of the monsoon farming season.

During the operation, the team intercepted the consignment near Pedda Amberpet and seized two vehicles and four mobile phones, along with seeds worth several lakhs. Officials said the blackmail was aimed at defrauding farmers by providing banned and fake seeds. Further investigation is ongoing.
