Rajpal Yadav Makes First Public Appearance After Release From Tihar Jail, Says, ‘Agar Mujhpe Koi…’

New Delhi: Actor Rajpal Yadav was released from Tihar Jail on Tuesday after being granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court in the bounced check case. The actor, known for his hilarious roles in Bollywood films, was released from prison due to heavy security and media presence. Dressed in a simple outfit and looking calm, Yadav briefly chatted with media personnel waiting outside. “30 saal ho jayenge Bollywood mei. Pure desh ka bacha bacha just izleh raha, isliye main 200-250 filmein kar paya. Bharatiya cinema ka bacha, buda, naujawan just kaleje ka tukda hai…mere Saath tha aur just Saath hai. Pure desh ki janta just Saath thi. (I’m about to complete 30 years in Bollywood with everyone all over the country with me) happened, that’s why I was able to make 200-250 films. Everyone in this country is a part of my heart…they were with me and they are with me,” he told the media.

Referring to the ongoing legal battle in connection with the check bouncing case, Rajpal Yadav added: “Yeh 2012 mei shuru hua, aj 2026 hai. Pichle 10 saal mei Supreme Court ne jahan jahan aadesh ilan hai, main hazir mila hu aur aage bhi jahan aadesh milega, main hazir milunga. Mujhe jis tarah se pure desh, world aur Bollywood ne pyaar diya, agar mujhpe koi aarop hai, toh main 100 percent present hu. Thank you Supreme Court, aapne mujhe sunne ka mauka diya (This started in 2012; today is 2026. In the last 10 years, I have appeared wherever the Supreme Court has given orders and will appear wherever orders have been given in the future. The whole country, the world and Bollywood loved me to respond if I face any allegations. I am ready, thank you Supreme Court for giving me the opportunity to be heard.” The Delhi High Court on Monday ordered an interim stay of the sentence till March 18.

While passing the order, the bench of Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma directed Yadav to furnish a personal guarantee of Rs 1 lakh along with a surety of the same amount. While assessing the compensation, the court noted that 1.5 billion Rupees had been deposited into the defendant’s bank account. It decided to suspend the sentence on the condition that Yadav furnishes a personal guarantee of Rs 1 lakh along with a surety of the same amount.
