Raskin Fact-Checks Trump AG Pam Bondi on CNN for Calling Him ‘Washed-Up Loser Lawyer’

COLLINS: Well, I mean, during that hearing, I mean, at one point he called you a “worn out, poor lawyer,” I think that was the term.

If you want to answer this. And also–

RASKIN: Hey, I’m not a washed-up lawyer. I’m a burned out law professor.

COLLINS: An important statement. I guess and then he…

RASKIN: I served as Deputy Attorney General for several years. But I was a law professor for 25 years.

COLLINS: At one point he said you weren’t a real lawyer.

RASKIN: Yes.

COLLINS: Frankly, I’ll let you dispute that.

RASKIN: Yes. Well, one must know. Yes.

COLLINS: I mean, but in terms of proofreading…

RASKIN: I paid my bar dues every year. So I know I’m a real lawyer.

COLLINS: OK.

RASKIN: And I’d be more than happy to discuss with him the Constitution and how every constitutional amendment right now is being violated by the agencies it represents, like ICE, the First Amendment right to speak and assemble, the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. Second Amendment rights, Fourth Amendment rights were violated in Minneapolis. So let’s talk serious law.

It’s crazy to me that the Attorney General of the United States thinks that you can replace real legal arguments and substantive responses with personal insults casually thrown around the room. This is great.
