Real reason Prince Harry and Meghan hid from the cameras at Princess Eugenie’s wedding | Royal | News

Unlike other members of the Royal Family, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a splash at the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on this day in 2018. Eugenie and Jack, who have been married for seven years, tied the knot at the same venue where Harry and Meghan got married five months ago.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, were filmed getting out of a car outside the venue and heading straight inside, seemingly avoiding waiting cameras. It is said that the couple made a quick entrance because they did not want to draw attention away from Eugenie and Jack. Eugenie’s engagement to Jack was announced in January 2018, but the couple reportedly got engaged a few months ago.

The Royal Family chose to delay the announcement due to Harry and Meghan’s engagement in November 2017 and Harry’s position in the succession.

Harry and Meghan’s wedding took priority, meaning the couple had to postpone their wedding until later in the year.

In addition to family members, famous names such as Naomi Campbell and Robbie Williams attended the couple’s wedding.

The pews of the royal box closest to the altar are those of Queen Elizabeth II. It was lined up with guests including Elizabeth, Prince Philip and King Charles.

Also in the front row were Eugenie’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and her older sister, Princess Beatrice.

Although the late Queen was not sitting downstairs, she had a clear view of the proceedings as an empty seat was left in front of her. This is reportedly due to royal protocol, which states that sitting in front of the monarch is prohibited.

Daily Mail had also previously reported that the late Queen chose not to sit in the empty seat downstairs due to uncomfortable seating.
