Obamas skip Cheney funeral… as Trump and JD Vance are BANNED

Barack and Michelle Obama did not attend Dick Cheney’s funeral.
The former president and first lady chose not to attend the former vice president’s ceremony, although George and Laura Bush and Joe and Jill Biden paid tribute at the Washington National Cathedral in D.C. on Thursday.
Neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton attended Cheney’s funeral.
Donald Trump and JD Vance were not invited to the memorial service. The two harshly criticized Cheney and her legacy, and the late Republican specifically supported Biden over Trump in the 2024 election.
It is not customary for former presidents to attend the funerals of former vice presidents; rather, it is customary for former vice presidents to pay their respects.
All living former vice presidents were present: Kamala Harris, Al Gore, Dan Quayle and Mike Pence.
Protocol dictates seating arrangements in which the Bushes, Bidens and then Harris, who attended without her husband Doug Emhoff, will sit in the front row.
Sitting on the other side of Harris were Pence and his wife, Karen.

Trump replaced Pence on the 2024 candidate ticket after Pence refused to support an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.
Harris welcomed Karen Pence with a hug and appeared to have a warm conversation with Mike as he took his seat.
He was also caught chatting lively with other former vice presidents Quayle and Gore.
Cheney’s funeral brought out a bipartisan collection of Washingtonians as the late vice president crossed the aisle supporting Harris’ White House bid a year before his death.
The former Vice President was following the lead of his daughter, former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, who peaked her political career under Trump, rather than following her lead on a House committee on Jan. 6.
Cheney said in her endorsement that ‘there has never been an individual who has posed a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.’
‘He tried to steal the last election by using lies and violence to keep himself in power after voters rejected him,’ Cheney said in September 2024. ‘He can never be trusted with power again.’
Trump has also been criticizing Bush ’43 and Cheney’s term in office for years, accusing them of involving the United States in ‘endless wars’ such as Afghanistan and Iraq.

Vance, who served as a Marine in Iraq, acknowledged their differences by paying tribute to his predecessor at an event hosted by Breitbart News on Thursday.
‘I send my condolences to Dick Cheney and his family,’ the Vice President said. ‘Of course there are some political disagreements but he was a man who served his country and we certainly wish his family the best at this time of sorrow.’
Former House Speakers Nancy Pelosi and John Boehner, as well as Trump ally Senator Lindsey Graham, Senator Mitch McConnell, possible 2028 Democratic nominee Representative Jamie Raskin, Dr. Anthony Fauci and liberal TV host Rachel Maddow were also there.
