“The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) is a force for good in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region,” Mr. Perdue said in his post.

“It is a pleasure to meet with the ambassadors of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue countries in Beijing,” he said.

“Relations between the four countries (USA, Australia, India and Japan) remain stable and strong,” he said and posted a photo of the four envoys, including India’s Ambassador to Beijing Pradeep Kumar Rawat.

The Indian Embassy here is yet to comment on the meeting.

China has harshly criticized the Quad for years and has yet to react to the meeting.

While reacting to the Quad meetings in the past, Beijing stated that it was against countries forming cliques, engaging in group politics and bloc conflict.

In his reaction to the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Quad countries held in January this year, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said that China has always maintained that cooperation between countries should not target third parties.
