Revanth Seeks 30K Majority In Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday urged voters to provide a 30,000-vote majority to Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav in the November 11 Jubilee Hills by-election and assured that the government will develop the constituency with “hundreds of millions”.
Turning his attack on the BRS leadership during roadshows and street corner meetings, Revanth Reddy said party working president KT Rama Rao should respond to the corruption allegations leveled by his sister K. Kavitha before seeking votes. “Kavitha said that KCR, KTR and Harish Rao have accumulated wealth through irregular contracts and kickbacks. KTR needs to respond to these accusations before stepping into Jubilee Hills,” said Revanth, adding that BRS has “lost the moral right” to talk about sensitivity or ethics.
Promising to honor Congress stalwart P. Janardhan Reddy, Revanth announced that Borabanda would be renamed as PJR Borabanda, drawing huge applause from the crowd. We will return here for the victory rally after the election,” he said. At a meeting in Borabanda, Revanth accused K. Chandrashekar Rao and KT Rama Rao of betraying Telangana’s political values and misleading the voters. “People have already sent the car to the shed,” he said, referring to the BRS symbol. “Those who once drove around in luxury cars are now roaming around in cars in Jubilee Hills.”
He recalled how Chandrashekar Rao broke a long-standing consensus tradition for the first time by fielding a BRS candidate in the general election necessitated by the demise of P. Janardhan Reddy. “When people’s leader PJR passed away, every party, including TD, unanimously supported holding the election in his memory. But KCR fielded a rival candidate against PJR’s family and that’s when this bad culture started,” he said.
Taking a swipe at Rama Rao, Revanth said: “The man who expelled his own sister from the party due to property disputes is now roaming around seeking votes for another family in Jubilee Hills,” he said, referring to BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha, wife of late MLA Maganti Gopinath, whose death led to the general election. “The proverb fits perfectly – someone who doesn’t feed his own mother now offers gold bangles to his aunt,” she joked, prompting laughter from the crowd. He questioned why the BRS, which has held the seat for a decade, has failed to make visible progress and is now relying on sympathy.
“I promised to give Azhareddin a ministerial post if he came to power, and I fulfilled it even though he did not win,” he said. “Women never ate the poor quality rice given by BRS; they fed it to domestic animals and cattle. Now they consume it only because of the quality we provide,” Revanth added. The Chief Minister, who was on a sightseeing tour of Erragadda, was welcomed by residents waving Congress flags. He said the congressional campaign represents “truth and governance, not emotion or sympathy.” Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav accompanied Revanth during the promotional tour, which had heavy local participation.
