Royal Family LIVE: Quiet update ‘spells disaster for Meghan and Harry’ | Royal | News

Prince William quietly gave a major update on his future intentions as King this month, as he is predicted to take a “tougher tone” towards Meghan and Harry when he ascends the throne. The Prince of Wales, 43, has announced he will sell a fifth of the Duchy of Cornwall, the massive £1bn estate he inherited when Charles becomes King in 2022.

William’s move to use the 10-year sale to fund £500 of his nature housing investment could set off alarm bells for his younger brother and his wife, who live in California after quitting working as a royal in 2021. Sources say Harry has “always been jealous” of his older brother’s inheritance in the Duchy, and the fact that William has sold some of that inheritance could indicate more drama in his dealings with the Sussexes?

Despite his decision to leave Britain, King Charles has always left his youngest son Harry some leeway. The 41-year-old actor still serves as State Counselor, meaning he could technically be the King’s deputy if the Monarch falls ill.

But speaking to Mail Online’s Daily Editor Richard Eden, a friend of William’s circle predicted: “William will take a much tougher stance on Harry and Meghan when he becomes king.” The pal did not say what this meant for Harry, but Mr Eden said anything he did could be dramatic, such as the quiet sale of a large part of a former royal estate.
