Epstein files expose chilling details of pedophile’s final days… and why he was afraid of going back to his cell

The latest files of the Department of Justice reveal that Jeffrey Epstein’s last days were spent in terror and torture in his prison cell.

The documents also raise new questions about the circumstances of his suicide.

At one point, after an initial failed suicide attempt, Epstein told a psychologist that he was afraid to go back to his cell.

The documents also noted that he filed a tip with the FBI about the murder of his brother, Mark.

Detailed records of Epstein’s first suicide attempt, which took place at 01:27 on July 23, 2019, in the Special Housing Unit at New York Metropolitan Prison, were published.

‘He stated that he woke up every thirty minutes and around 01:00 to drink water. He recalled returning to his bunk bed and waking up with staff in his cell, according to an evaluation by a psychologist.

‘During the interview, he stated that he still could not remember what happened in the SHU that caused the marks on his neck. He stated that he had only slept for about 30 minutes each night for the previous 5 days due to the noise in the SHU.’

The assessor added: ‘He stated that he was anxious about returning to the SHU because he would be returning to a place with a mark on his neck and that he did not know why this was happening.’

Records showed that Epstein was treated for ‘a circular line of erythema on the lower part of his neck, a section with rub marks on the front, and a small erythema on his left knee.’

Epstein’s cellmate at the time was Nicholas Tartaglione, who said he was trying to revive Epstein.

Tartaglione was later cleared by prison officials of any wrongdoing in the incident and was removed from the cell at the time of Epstein’s death weeks later.

In 2024, Tartaglione, a former police officer, was sentenced to life imprisonment for four murders committed in 2016.

Newly released Epstein files reveal that in February 2023, his brother Mark submitted a wild online tip to the FBI.

This was recorded in a document compiled by the Threat Acquisition Controller in the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center Unit.

The tip was that ‘Jeffrey Epstein was murdered in his prison cell’ and that ‘there is reason to believe he was murdered because he was about to give names’. I believe President Trump authorized his murder.’

No further details were provided, and Trump was never formally accused of wrongdoing in Epstein’s death.

In response to the FBI tip that surfaced in Mark Epstein’s latest Epstein files disclosure, the White House referred the Daily Mail to a statement released by the Justice Department on Tuesday.

The following statements were made in the statement: ‘Some of these documents contain unfounded and sensational claims against President Trump, which were submitted to the FBI just before the 2020 elections. To be clear: The allegations are false and false, and if they had any credibility they would certainly be used as weapons against President Trump.

‘However, in our commitment to law and transparency, the Department of Justice is releasing these documents with legally required protections for Epstein’s victims.’

In psychiatric notes from two weeks before his death, Epstein appeared distraught and compared himself to Dustin Hoffman’s autistic character in the Hollywood movie ‘Rain Man’.

‘He said his right arm was still a little numb and he couldn’t make a fist with that hand,’ a reporting deputy said. He said he also had numbness in his neck.

‘When he flushed the toilet last night he said he was flushing for 45 minutes. He said he found this so repulsive and distressing that he sat in the corner and held his ears. He said that he was anxious for hours and could not sleep because of this. He stated that the feeling he had from the noise of the toilet was similar to when he was in the SHU (Special Housing Unit).’

The report continued: ‘He said there might be something on the autism spectrum. In the movie “Rain Man”, he said that the person with autism does not like noise. He also stated that he was really good with numbers.’

Epstein was found dead in his cell, an apparent suicide, early on August 10, 2109.

Documents revealed intense email exchanges between authorities later that day, raising further questions about the circumstances of the death.

One official wrote: ‘As you can imagine, we are receiving increasingly frantic calls from defense attorneys who continue to meet.

Information that the US Attorney’s Office has not yet received is available in the press. At a minimum, we need to know the most basic facts, such as time and cause of death, as soon as possible.’

Amid the debate over the release of the body, another official said: ‘The defense attorney is extremely concerned about whether this time is sufficient for a full autopsy and other investigative steps.’
