Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) said on Monday, November 24, 2025 that the crash of a Tejas fighter jet in Dubai last week was an isolated incident caused by exceptional circumstances, without providing further details.

On Friday, a Tejas fighter jet crashed in a fireball in front of horrified spectators during an air show at the Dubai Airshow. The Indian Air Force said it would set up a court of inquiry to investigate the cause of the incident.

State-owned Hindustan Aeronautics produces the aircraft powered by General Electric engines. Both companies announced that they would support the investigation.

Tejas, which means genius in Sanskrit, is vital to India’s efforts to modernize its air fleet, which consists mainly of Russian and ex-Soviet fighters.

Hindustan Aeronautics said in a statement on Monday (November 24) that the accident will not affect its business operations, finances or future deliveries.

The company’s shares, which have been trading with a 3 percent decrease since the morning, remained unchanged after the announcement.
