Ryanair flight heading to major UK airport suffers ‘technical issue’ before landing | UK | News

Ryanair’s flight to England experienced a “minor technical problem”. Flight FR5090 from Malaga, Spain, to Edinburgh took off just after 6am on Wednesday and transmitted an emergency code before landing in the Scottish capital.

The crew issued squawk code 7700, a general emergency signal, and the plane was met by emergency services on the tarmac after a safe landing just after 8am. Ryanair confirmed that the plane had experienced a “minor technical issue” and was being inspected by engineers as standard procedure.

A spokesman said: “This flight from Malaga to Edinburgh (22 July) experienced a minor technical issue before landing normally at Edinburgh Airport.

“Passengers disembarked normally and the aircraft was subsequently inspected by our engineers in accordance with established procedures.”

In a separate incident at the budget airline, a man was recently pulled out a window and had to be held down by terrified passengers.

61-year-old Ljubisa Karović was driving from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany, when she was suddenly woken up when the window next to her broke.

It was stated that the Serbian national had burns and bruises on his right arm, extending from his armpit to his chest, and that he had to wear a neck brace for at least six weeks.

The translator, Mr Karović, told The Guardian: “This is what I remember about the explosion. The noise before the chaos, the noise that was always there when I closed my eyes to sleep.”

“I’m lucky. I don’t remember much, my head and neck still hurt, but I’m still alive. It might be because of my seat belt or the fact that I’m still strapped in. But maybe it’s fate. I believe in God and thank him every day.”
