Sainsbury’s announces stores to close for 1 day | UK | News
As colder temperatures and darker nights approach, many people will already think about winter, Christmas and the new year.
Nobody likes to leave the festive preparations to the last minute, and therefore it is always useful to know Christmas opening times as early as possible for stores. The retailers such as home bargaining and B&M have already announced their Christmas opening and closing times and now Sinsbury’s have confirmed.
A spokesperson of a sainsbury Daily mirror: “The majority of supermarkets and markets will open from 6 to 23:00 in the morning between 18 and 23 December.”
“Supermarkets will be open from 6 am to 7 am and markets from 6 to 9 am. All stores will be closed on Christmas Day.”
Due to the 2004 Christmas Day (Trade) Law, the stores in the UK are closing to Christmas Day. The law prevents employees from opening large stores to allow employees to go to the day and celebrate the holiday with their loved ones.
He also confirmed when Sinsbury’s stores would be reopened and timing. Sözcü said: “Supermarkets on the boxing day will be open between 09: 00-18: 00, and between 27-30 December between 9 o’clock to 9 pm. The stores will take normal hours.”

A week later, on New Year’s Eve, Sinsbury’s supermarkets will be open from 10 am to 7 pm and there will be markets from 6 to 9 am. The opening hours will be a little shorter on New Year’s Day.
Supermarkets will be open from 8 am to 8 am and the markets will be open from 9 am to 9 pm.
A program change will also affect Sinsbury’s gasoline filler stations. They will open 30 minutes before the main store and 30 minutes after. Except for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, they will open after an hour.
