Why Black entrepreneurs flock to Martha’s Vineyard every August

Martha’s Vineyard has long been a summer holiday destination for black families, but in the August Massachusetts beach community, black entrepreneurs, investors and financial companies are becoming an important center for financial companies.
“I can say that this is about introducing your network to someone else’s network,” Calvin L. Butts Jr., the founder of East Chop Capital, a private capital company named after a neighborhood on the island. He said. Old traditions, new opportunities
Martha’s Vineyard became a popular holiday place for black families a century ago with the opening of the first hotel to allow black visitors Shearer Cottage in 1912.
Since then, black families have purchased a house and created a community around Oak Bluffs and Inkwell Beach, which was a head -shaking to the discrimination on the island in the past.

Donae Burston, the founder of La Fête Du Rosé, said that he saw Martha as an organic way to enlarge sales between a consumer base that is compatible with marketing as a luxury brand and marketing as a luxury brand.
