Penitentiary inmate dies after attack
Two inmates of the Donnacona penitentiary in their twenties were attacked by other inmates late Tuesday. One of them died from his injuries.

After the attack, which occurred around 7:30 p.m., the two individuals were transported to a hospital.
“The death of one of them was noted at the hospital,” said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Béatrice Dorsainville.
Mme Dorsainville said the second victim of the attack was also injured, but his life is not feared.
The Sûreté du Québec’s crimes against the person investigation department is responsible for the case and went to the site as did the forensic identification service. The investigation is ongoing, said Mme Dorsainville.
This is the second death to occur at the Donnacona penitentiary in less than a month. On March 3, a murderer had already killed another inmate of the establishment.
