Sanjay Jaju Meets Revanth Reddy Ahead of Assuming Charge

Hyderabad: Newly appointed Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at MCR HRD Institute Bodhi Pavilion in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
He will take over as Secretary General in the afternoon. The state government on Friday formally appointed Jaju as Chief Secretary with effect from June 30, when incumbent K. Ramakrishna Rao retires after completion of his extended term.
The government also appointed Ramakrishna Rao as advisor and ex-officio special principal secretary to the Prime Minister after his retirement.
The government has also given Jaju, a 1992-batch IAS officer, the post of special principal secretary for industry, commerce and information technology, chief executive officer of the Industry and Investment Cell in the Prime Minister’s Office and SPEED (Smart Proactive, Efficient and Effective Delivery), previously held by Ramakrishna Rao, with full additional pay.
Janu is expected to retire in February 2029. Jaju, who was removed from the Central deputation and sent back to the Telangana cadre on Tuesday, returned to the state after nearly 13 years.
He was most recently serving as secretary at the Department of Development of the North-East Region (DoNER). Jaju previously served as secretary in the ministry of information and broadcasting, additional secretary in the defense production department and held senior positions in the ministry of road transport and highways; where he gained credit for designing and delivering online services at the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL). Before moving to central representation in 2014, Jaju held various key positions in erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh, including collector of East Godavari district, commissioner of erstwhile Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, IT secretary and vice-chairman of Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (INCAP).
He played a leading role in designing and implementing Mee Seva, the citizen-centric portal that transformed the delivery of government services in the undivided state. Official sources said Revanth Reddy preferred Jaju for the state’s top bureaucratic post due to his extensive administrative experience in the state and Central governments, long-standing association with Union ministries and ability to facilitate faster clearances for Telangana’s flagship projects.
