Scams have grown more sophisticated, but people are fighting back

As governments around the world restricted the movements of their citizens during Covid lockdowns from 2020, people spent more time online. We shopped more online and socialized more, which brought us closer to those who wanted to defraud us. At the same time, realistic video parodies, audio, websites and text have become more common, and scammers have increased their use of social media, including WhatsApp.
