Security Beefed Up At Red Fort After Bomb Threat Call

New Delhi : Sources said that Delhi Police has increased security at the Red Fort here after receiving information about the bomb threat on Saturday. However, after an extensive search of the facility, the threat was declared a hoax.
The threatening call was made to the Mumbai Police control room and the caller claimed that the iconic monument in Delhi would be blown up. Sources said Mumbai Police immediately shared the information with the Delhi Police control room, which alerted the district police.
It was stated that following the warning, security was tightened in the Red Castle and its surroundings, and a comprehensive search was carried out in the monument and its surroundings.
They added that after a thorough search, no suspicious objects were found and the threat was declared a fraud.
They said efforts are ongoing to identify the caller and determine the motive behind the fake threat.
