Sen. Mazie Hirono mocked for sexual harassment questions at hearing

Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono opened part of her questioning of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche on Wednesday by asking whether he had ever solicited sexual favors or sexually harassed her; This revived the consent-buying question that has repeatedly drawn ridicule from conservatives.

Hirono asks, “Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted sexual advances or engaged in any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature?” he asked.

“No, Senator,” replied Blanche.

“Have you ever faced discipline or reached an agreement regarding this type of behavior?” he followed.

“No, Senator,” replied Blanche.

Social media users were quick to mock Hirono’s opening questions.

“Raise your hand if you’re tired of @Maziehirono’s Senate Judiciary’s favorite method of questioning.” Republican National Lawyers Association at X.

“White House asks AG Todd Blanche ‘have you ever made unsolicited requests for sexual favors?'” Right Line News Chief Content Officer wrote. BLANCHE: Drives unstable Senator Mazie Hirono (D) crazy by demanding the answer ‘…no, senator..'” Eric Daugherty in X.

“WTF? What a stupid thing to ask out of the blue,” Daugherty added.

“He does this to everyone, he’s ABSOLUTELY CRAZY” a user added.
