Sharmila slams govt. for filing cases against noted academic

APCC chief YS Sharmila on Sunday condemned the filing of a case against journalist and former MLC from Telangana K. Nageshwar, terming it as an act of harassment and political revenge.

In her statement, Ms. Sharmila said that it is not befitting of the NDA government in the state to target an academician and intellectual in this way.

Prof. He said that even after Nageshwar retracted his remarks and clarified his position, it was unfair for the government to file a case against him and Prof. He demanded immediate withdrawal of the cases filed against Nageshwar.

Prof. Citing high-level sources, Nageshwar had earlier claimed that Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan had asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah to send YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to jail but was advised to go easy on him.
