Maruti Suzuki records 12% rise in January sales to 2,36,963 units; Utility vehicle portion sales up 16% MoM

New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) Maruti Suzuki India on Monday reported that total sales in January reached 2,36,963 units, up 12 per cent year-on-year.
The automotive major shipped a total of 2,12,251 units in the same month last year.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement that total domestic passenger vehicle shipments to dealers reached 1,74,529 units as against 1,73,599 units in the same month last year.
Sales of mini segment cars, consisting of Alto and S-Presso, increased to 14,268 units compared to 14,247 units in January 2025.
Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Dzire, Ignis and Swift, decreased to 72,738 units from 82,241 units in the same month last year.
Commercial vehicles, consisting of Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga and XL6, sold 75,609 units last month, up from 65,093 units a year ago.
Sales of Van Eeco stood at 11,914 units last month, compared to 11,250 units in January 2025, while sales of the light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 3,771 units, compared to 4,089 units previously.
MSI said its exports in January reached 51,020 units compared to 27,100 units in the same month last year.
