Donald Trump has once again suffered health complications after his wife was seen “struggling to keep her eyes open” while giving an important speech. The 79-year-old man’s sleep appeared to be getting better as he stood next to Melania Trump as she talked about a new executive order.
In the footage, the US president is seen opening and closing his eyes and blinking slowly. Mr Trump’s tired demeanor sparked concern on social media, with one Another added: “Looks like there’s a newer version of ‘sleepy Donald’ after ‘sleepy Joe’.”
This comes after the first lady joined her husband for a rare joint executive order signing ceremony on Thursday. The directive expands resources for youth in the foster care system.
The executive order, signed by both Trumps, aims to strengthen the first lady’s Supporting the Future program, which aims to support youth leaving foster care through scholarships and educational opportunities.
Supporting the Future is part of the First Lady’s Be Best initiative, launched during the first Trump administration to improve children’s well-being, including combating bullying and drug addiction.
Mrs. Trump was greeted with thunderous applause after her speech. The President then took the microphone after kissing his wife.
Mr Trump said: “Thank you, Melania, and our country is truly lucky to have this wonderful and caring First Lady.
“They love her. Every time I get up and give a speech they say, ‘We want our First Lady.’ And I say, ‘What, am I not good enough?’ “I say.”
It comes after the BBC apologized to Mr Trump following accusations of misleading video editing. However, the company claimed that the bombshell libel claim had no basis.
