Smoke alert for Beckenham as home near intersection of William and Brixton streets goes up in flames

A house burst into flames in south-east Perth, triggering a smoke alert and a major emergency response.
The fire broke out around noon Saturday at a house at the intersection of William and Brixton streets in Beckenham.
Eight Fire and Emergency Services departments rushed to the scene as thick smoke billowed across the suburb.
Fire crews took the fire in the house under control around 13:00.
It is believed that no one was at home when the fire broke out.
Fire crews are working to determine what caused the fire.
William Street was closed between the Railway Parade and Brixton Street, with motorists urged to avoid the area or use caution if traveling nearby.
