Smriti Mandhana’s father under close observation after elevated heart enzymes detected
Indian star Smriti Mandhana’s father Shrinivas Mandhana was put under close medical observation after doctors detected an increase in his heart enzyme levels. The family is monitoring his condition while experts conduct further tests to determine the cause and provide timely treatment.
Mandhana’s father Shrinivas, who shot Smriti in Star India, is currently receiving close medical attention after the family doctor revealed that he sent an ambulance on the call of Smriti’s brother Shravan. He was quickly hospitalized due to the onset of angina, PTI reported. Smriti shares a deep bond with her father, who has constantly supported her throughout her cricket career.
Smriti’s family physician, Dr. Naman Shah stated that the medical team is monitoring his condition closely.
“Around 1.30 pm, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana experienced left chest pain, which we call ‘angina’ in medical terms. When the symptoms appeared, his son called me, we sent an ambulance and he was shifted to the hospital,” Shah was quoted as saying to PTI.
“On the ECG, we learned from other reports that heart enzymes are high, so we need to keep them under observation. Blood pressure is also high, efforts to lower it are ongoing.”
The doctor also stated that angiography will be done if his health worsens and he expects Shrinivas to be stable by Monday.
A week-long celebration was going on in Smriti’s hometown, Sangli, in anticipation of her much-anticipated wedding.
Smriti’s manager Tuhin Mishra confirmed on Sunday morning that her father was suffering from a health issue.
“Smriti’s father, Mr. Shrinivas Mandhana, was having breakfast this morning and his health started deteriorating. We waited, thinking he would recover soon, but he did not. So we thought not to take any risks and called an ambulance and he was taken to the hospital. He is under observation,” he said.
The manager stated that due to her father’s health problems, Smriti decided to postpone her wedding until she fully recovered.
“Smriti is very close to her father. That’s why she decided to postpone her marriage, which was to take place today, until her father recovers.”
