Sol Ruca wins Women’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash in Italy

Sol Ruca rode a wave of success to defeat Becky Lynch at the Clash in Italy on Sunday to become the new women’s intercontinental champion.

This was a rematch of their brief encounter on Saturday Night’s Main Event. While Ruca was nailing the Left Snatcher, Lynch pushed referee Jessica Carr in front of him. Carr called for Lynch to be disqualified, giving Ruca the win. But it wasn’t what either of them expected. While Lynch hopes to move on from the rising star, Ruca hasn’t proven himself well in the eyes of “The Man.”

SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis set up a rematch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Ruca stepped forward and achieved great success.

Lynch tried to get into Ruca’s head as much as he could. Trash talk, trying to take down Ruca by pushing Carr to the ropes, and even attempting the Left Snatcher himself were not enough to slow down Ruca.

As the match ended, Ruca hit the Sol Snatcher out of nowhere, crushing Lynch and ending her reign as women’s intercontinental champion.

This was Ruca’s first major win since joining the main roster. She defeated Bayley on Saturday Night’s Main Event in December, and John Cena specifically singled her out on the card. He has been one of the top prospects in NXT and is currently making a huge impact on the WWE roster.
