Sonam Wangchuk offers to end hunger strike if Parliament takes up education accountability
In a post on X, Wangchuk listed three conditions under which he could end his hunger strike.

“… I will end my fast on July 20th in the following cases: a. If the Government takes responsibility for the recent failures in the Education system, Paper leaks, etc. or b. If I and the HSK leadership reach the door of Parliament where MPs and leaders of various parties have assured us that they will now take up the matter in Parliament or c. If my health or other factors do not allow it then MPs and leaders of different parties visit this Hospital and give the above assurance…From the illegal situation My freedom of movement, speech and communication is restricted “I am detained at Safdarjung Hospital.”
Earlier on Sunday, Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali Angmo also said Wangchuk would end his hunger strike if “political leaders meet him at Safdarjung Hospital” and assure him that they will raise “the issue of educational responsibility”.
“Sonam will end her hunger strike tomorrow if political leaders meet her at Safdarjung hospital and assure her that they will raise the issue of education accountability in this Parliament session and the main topic of this session will be education accountability and reforms…” he said.

Meanwhile, authorities deployed security personnel outside Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Sunday following the Cockroach Janata Party’s proposal to march to Parliament.
Police teams were seen standing guard around the protest area.
The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) continues to protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and has called for a march to Parliament on the first day of the Monsoon Session on Monday. However, sources said that the organization has not yet approached the Delhi Police to get official permission for this march. The march was earlier announced by activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was hospitalized on Saturday morning.
