Soumya Mishra Champions Women-Led Growth

Hyderabad: General Director of Prisons Dr. Soumya Mishra said that in the context of rapid technological advancements, especially artificial intelligence, women’s leadership is vital to ensure innovation remains inclusive, ethical and representative. Dr Mishra said that women today are not only participants but also decision-makers, innovators and leaders who shape outcomes in governance, technology and entrepreneurship.

She was speaking at ‘Emerge’, a women leadership summit organized by Hyderabad Management Association. The focus was on the theme “From Women’s Development to Women-Led Development”. Among those present were Karuna Gopal, president of the Futuristic Cities Foundation; Dr Ch. Preeti Reddy, vice president of Malla Reddy Vishwavidyapeeth; and Chitra Sood, director of product operations, Google Cloud Operations.

Dr. Drawing on his experience, Mishra highlighted reformative initiatives aimed at ensuring dignified reintegration in the prisons department, including skill development, training, mental health and rehabilitation programs for women inmates.

Encouraging young women to step into leadership roles, Dr Mishra said that by encouraging them to believe in their abilities, create opportunities and support each other, collective empowerment accelerates progress and breaks down barriers.

He praised the Hyderabad Management Association for organizing the summit and expressed confidence that the discussions would yield workable results. The event concluded with a shared commitment to building inclusive ecosystems that recognize women-led development as a driver of sustainable and equitable growth.
