SP Urges Youth To Act As Anti-Drug Warriors

KAKINADA: East Godavari police chief D. Narasimha Kishore urged the youth to form anti-drug groups in their villages to help eliminate narcotic use from the society.
Addressing an awareness program on women’s safety and drug prevention at Kanchara Line near Godavari Ghat in Dowleswaram on Sunday, the SP said the police would give full support to such initiatives.
He warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in atrocities against women and those involved in dealing in ganja and other drugs. The SP said that efforts will be made to ensure that criminals involved in drug-related crimes are sentenced to life imprisonment.
Narasimha Kishore said that the accused arrested in tick-related cases in Dowleswaram have already been sent to jail and their release is not possible.
Dowleswaram circle inspector K. Manga Devi, Shakthi Team members and others attended the programme.
