Spain vs Cape Verde World Cup prediction: Why the over on Spain’s team total looks like the play

We’ve had a chance at the World Cup so far, so we’ve got to keep pushing our luck, right? Right. We got +240 with a win in the USA, a final loss in the Brazil game, a really good win in the Netherlands and Japan draw with a score of 2-1. Let’s try to catch one here with Spain and Cape Verde.
Even a casual observer would expect Spain to be the better team in this match. You could probably even assume that Spain should make it big in the overall World Cup standings. What makes this team unique is that although the most popular team in the country is Barcelona or Real Madrid, there is not a single Real Madrid player in the squad. There is almost no doubt that Spain will qualify from the group.

The only challenge they face in this group is against Uruguay. There is an argument that Spain will be more intense and aggressive in attack now. They have looked less than impressive in the last four matches since March. The team achieved two wins and two draws and scored three goals in both victories.
Like most of these teams, I probably can’t tell where Cape Verde is on the map. But unlike the big countries (I’m looking at you, Italy) Cape Verde qualified to play in these matches. This is the first time the team has qualified for the World Cup. They did not concede a goal on their home field while coming here, but they will not have this advantage anymore.

They will need to rely on their strong defense if they plan to have a chance against the Spanish team. They don’t really have the attacking firepower to keep up with Spain, so the question is can they find another way to win? I think what they will shoot for here will be a draw or they will take advantage of their opponents’ mistakes. These are the only ways I see Cape Verde surprising everyone.
This is one of those games where I think we know the outcome. Spain definitely needs to win this match, but the question is: by how much? The total is 3.5 and Spain’s goal difference is -2.5.

I think the difference of -2.5 makes some sense, but I think we need to see Spain score at least three goals here. The team total might be a bit expensive but I will just try to score over 3.5 goals for them. Playing a total of 3.5 -105 between both teams makes more sense, because I think Spain will score the most, we take their team’s total.
