Spectacular autumn leaves expected after warm UK summer

The nights may have noticed that you have started to feel like autumn when drawing with more wet, harder and cooler weather lately.

One of the more spectacular parts of the new season is that the leaves turn into a colorful screen.

Forestry UK experts think this autumn will be more dramatic than usual.

“We have spent a very warm and sunny summer in the Westonbird Director of the UK, the British Westonbird, and this helps to create candies that create these magnificent autumn colors on the leaves of the trees … And this year we are waiting for a really good exhibition.” He said.

Gradually the lower light levels in the autumn reduce the production of green pigment – chlorophyll – and the underlying colors of yellow, red and oranges come.

However, a record -breaking hot summer and sunlight above average, trees produced more sugar on the leaves.

And with higher sugar concentrations, a pigment called anthocyanin is produced, which makes the leaves even more red.

Forestry England, “in September hot days and cool, dry nights, we can see one of the most flashy autumn shows in recent years,” he suggests.

However, Kevin Martin may not see the magnificent screen when all trees change color at the same time because some trees have already changed and pour their leaves “.

It is known as ‘false autumn’ – the leaves in some trees such as horse chestnuts have already become brown and fell in response to the stress of drought.

In response to the latest rainfall, some of these trees in Kew Gardens began to grow temporarily before the normal autumn change arrived.
